Destiny Bible College
Destiny Bible College is dedicated to providing Christ-centered training and instruction, in accordance with Biblical principles and standards that will meet the spiritual, educational, and practical needs of all seeking a Christian education for diverse areas of Ministry and personal growth. DBC’s foundation is Biblical and our curriculum dedicated to the belief that the Bible provides the only authoritative guide for a relationship with God and other persons. We believe that the Bible alone is sufficient to meet all of man’s needs “that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.”
Our course materials are extensive and detailed, yet user friendly and solution focused. Beginning with the basics and progressing into more advanced levels, the student will learn the Scriptures from a Biblical, Christ-centered perspective. Our courses will prepare you to be an effective and competent minister in whatever area you choose. We offer Home Study classes in Theology and Ministry, and both Home Study and live virtual classes for Christian Counseling. DBC is dedicated to serving the Church, its Pastors, and ministries. Programs and materials can be specifically designed to meet the needs of your individual ministry or congregational needs.

Dr. Alan Kitay holds a Master’s degree and a Doctorate Degree in Psychology from International Christian University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from A&M University. He is a Licensed Professional Christian Therapist and a Board-Certified Christian Counselor.
Alan answered the call to the ministry in 1984. Since then, he has served as an Evangelist, Assistant Pastor, and Christian Counselor. His experience includes being a teacher in the Texas public schools since 1988, and a counselor since 1999. Active in the Church, he has served as an Evangelist, Assistant Pastor, and Counselor.
Alan began teaching in the public school system in 1988. In 1989, he was listed in Who’s Who in American Education. He is certified to teach both Reading and Sociology. After eleven years of teaching in the classroom, Alan decided that he wanted to work more directly with the students, so after receiving his Master’s degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M, he began working as a middle school Counselor. After five years as a Counselor, he was asked to switch assignments and became a Dyslexia and Irlen Specialist teaching students diagnosed with dyslexia.
In 1999, Dr. Kitay founded Grace Christian Counseling Ministries and Grace Bible Institute. The purpose was twofold: 1) To provide Christ-centered counseling, and 2) To teach others how to provide Biblical Christ-centered counseling. This is when the Certified Christian Counseling Certification program was started. In 2013, Dr. Kitay and GCCM partnered with Eternal Rock Church and Houston Bible College. The curriculum and staff were expanded to now offer courses in Christian Counseling/Psychology, Ministry, and Theology, all from Level 1 certification through Doctorate Degree.
In 2022, Dr. Kitay retired from teaching in the public school system and accepted a position with Destiny Church as Associate Pastor. So, he and his wife, Dr. Carrie Kitay, moved to Lake Jackson. Here, Houston Bible College merged with Brazosport Christian College and now operates as Destiny Bible College. Dr. Cedric Johnson serves as Pastor of Destiny Church and President of Destiny Bible College. In addition to his work as Associate Pastor, Dr. Kitay serves as Dean of Destiny Bible College and Director of Destiny Cares Christian Counseling Center. He teaches classes in Christian Counseling and conducts classes, seminars, and workshops teaching others how to apply Biblical principles to their lives. He has authored four courses that comprise the foundational classes for the Certified Christian Counselor Training Program offered by DBC and is the author of the book, The Baptism of the Holy Ghost.
